John Steinbeck, “Of Mice and Men”

-Nobel laureate Steinbeck’s most popular work-

Of Mice and Men was published in 1937. The tragic story, given poignancy by its objective narrative, is about the complex bond between two migrant laborers, George Milton and Lennie Small, itinerant ranch hands who dream of one day owning a small farm.

Tackling universal themes, friendship and a shared vision, and giving a voice to America’s lonely and dispossessed, Of Mice and Men remains Steinbeck’s most popular work.

John Ernst Steinbeck (1902-1968) was an American novelist, best known for The Grapes of Wrath (1939), which summed up the bitterness of the Great Depression decade and aroused widespread sympathy for the plight of migratory farmworkers. He received the Nobel Prize for Literature for 1962.
