“Murder in the Maze” is the first novel of the Sir Clinton Driffield mysteries. Set on a 1920s English country estate famous for its double hedge maze, it introduces the reader to the tightly plotted, fair-play detective fiction of the Golden Age, when twin brothers are found shot with poisoned darts in the maze’s green corridors on the same afternoon.

J. Connington was the pseudonym of Alfred Walter Stewart (1880-1933… [1880-1947]), a Scottish chemist and professor at Queen’s University, Belfast. His seventeen detective novels featuring Sir Clinton Driffield earned the praise of T. S. Eliot and a place among the founding members of London’s Detection Club.
