Mary Eleanor Wilkins Freeman (1852-1930) was born in Randolph, Massachusetts. She is also known and appreciated for supernatural stories. A celebrated posthumous collection, released by Arkham House in 1974 (Collected Ghost Stories) in an edition of 4155 copies, collected her most celebrated supernatural tales.
